Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 2026 - Confera Platform

Welcome to Confera. By accessing or using our conference management platform, web applications, or related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.

1. Nature of the Platform

Confera provides an integrated software platform facilitating scholarly and professional conference workflows - including paper submissions, double-blind and single-blind peer review, track administration, camera-ready manuscript preparation, digital copyright e-signatures, attendee registration, schedule publishing, and certificate issuance.

2. User Accounts and Role Responsibilities

Access to certain features requires creating an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and maintain the security of your credentials:

  • Organisers & Track Chairs: Responsible for conference configuration, track policies, fair reviewer assignment, acceptance criteria, and prompt communications with participants.
  • Reviewers: Agree to maintain strict confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts, conduct objective evaluations, declare any conflicts of interest before accepting assignments, and never use manuscripts or author data for personal advantage.
  • Authors: Warrant that submitted manuscripts are original work, do not infringe third-party intellectual property or copyright, and have obtained necessary consents from all named co-authors.
  • Attendees: Agree to comply with individual conference conduct codes, access rules, and registration terms.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Submit plagiarized, defamatory, fraudulent, or unauthorized materials.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to other users' accounts, review scores, or unreleased event data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt Platform servers, networks, APIs, or database integrity.
  • Harvest, scrape, or extract personal data of participants without explicit authorization.
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or scholarly publishing standards.

4. Intellectual Property and Manuscripts

Authors retain copyright and ownership in their submitted manuscripts, abstracts, and presentation slides. By submitting via Confera, authors grant the designated conference organizers and publisher a limited, non-exclusive license solely for the purposes of peer review, conference inclusion, and proceeding publication as agreed in the conference guidelines.

All platform software, user interface design, logos, brand assets, and algorithms remain the exclusive intellectual property of Confera.

5. Digital Copyright E-Signing & Certificate Verification

Confera provides an in-app e-signature pad and hash-based public verification for copyright agreements and participation certificates. You acknowledge and agree that electronic signatures executed through the Platform are legally binding expressions of consent in accordance with applicable electronic transactions law.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is paramount. Personal data processed across the Platform is governed by our Privacy Policy and strictly adheres to the provisions of India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

7. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

Confera is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we strive for 99.9% uptime and robust redundancy, Confera is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from conference cancellations, reviewer delays, paper acceptance/rejection disputes, or external network outages.

Editorial and acceptance decisions remain the sole responsibility of individual conference organizers and program committees.

8. Termination and Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, engage in security violations, or disrupt conference integrity, upon reasonable review.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
